Our final update on Betty the beagle

Betty went missing on Tuesday 31st March. We put a post on Facebook and want to thank everyone who shared this post and went looking for Betty.
This post reached the wonderful Vivienne Hanson from busters dog rescue. She got a team together with drones and Ashley Murphy from Confident Canine Coaching Academy, who sent her amazing sniffer dogs Boss and Bean into the quarry and they indicated that Betty was in a rabbit hole at the edge of the quarry.
We called upper Wharfedale fell rescue who came out and started the rescue. The rabbit hole lead into large crack that had been formed in the quarry that went down so far. They dug through solid rock and searched for Betty for over 2 days. When the contact and noises we had been hearing from Betty had not been heard for quite some time and the hole was around 5 plus metres deep and very dangerous, the heartbreaking decision was made to stop. Fell rescue have gone above and beyond, even going back the day after to see if they could hear a bark, but were not able to.
We have had so much support form so many wonderful people during this time our thanks and eternal gratitude does not seem enough.
Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA)and the amazing volunteers who gave up their Easter weekend for Betty.
The Craven Heifer Skipton for supplying take away cups late at night so we could get warm drinks into fell rescuers.
Long Ashes Leisure Club staff who kept us fed, provided water and somewhere to warm up and a shoulder to cry on. Somewhere to park and access.
SHC Hire Centres LTD skipton for providing breakers to get through the rock.
Robin Maude for his drain cameras and akro props.
Dan lambert from Lamberts Transport & Engineering for his tools and access to the quarry.
Ben Docerty from BD scaffolding who turned up with scaffolding to keep fell rescue safe.
Tom Harrison for the loan of his quad bike.
George Hayton and Nigel Hayton for the tools.
Friends and family who have supported and helped look.
Strangers who have shown so much kindness and wanting to help.
Threshfield community for their support and searching, particularly Nicola and Chris, who we have never met before but have been so kind and helped so much.
I have possibly missed someone from here who helped. You know who you are and we are so grateful.
We are now just taking time to be together as a family and remember Betty for the most wonderful caring loving dog she was 💔🐶🐾
